Certificate of Safety
After the seaworthiness of a Nepalese vessel has been certified according to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1960 by an authorized classification society (Classification Society) recognized by the Government of Nepal, the following vessels are The safety certificates will be issued by the shipping inspector of Nepal Shipping Office with the prescribed fee and the format of such certificates will be as prescribed:-
(1) For passenger ships – certificate of safety of passenger ships.
(2) To a cargo ship-
(a) Construction safety certificate for cargo vessels of 500 tons or more gross tonnage.
(b) Certificate of safety of equipment of cargo ships of 500 tons or more gross tonnage.
(c) Radio telegraphy security certificate for cargo ships of 1600 tons or more gross tonnage. दधाध (d) Certificate of radiotelephony security for cargo ships with gross tonnage of more than 300 tons but less than 1600 tons and not equipped with a radio telegraph station.
(3) Certificate of seaworthiness for all vessels mentioned in clauses (1) and (2).
(4) Certificate of international load line (load line) for passenger or cargo ships with gross tonnage of 150 tons or more.
(5) In the case of extraordinary circumstances, if a ship has to go on a sea voyage, even if some of the requirements of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea) 1960 are not met, such a ship shall be safe enough to make a sea voyage once.
